On the 50th Anniversary of Utah Arts Festival, Salt Lake City’s premier annual arts event chose to host Austin folk-Americana artist, Shakey Graves on Saturday, June 21 on the street adjacent to Library Square in the downtown civic center area. As huge fans of Graves’ since his return to Austin from Los Angeles where he was pursuing an acting career we’ve seen his steady ascent in music.
The town also home to what might be the most socially-conscious, politically-aware rock band on the planet, IDLES. Many have referred to the group as hardcore punks, but they do not see themselves as exclusively punk, but something more versatile and fluid. On September 26, the quintet released their third studio release, Ultra Mono.

Song Machine is being introduced in progress, with seven of the ultimate 17 tracks released to date. Gorillaz have been dropping new tracks for the series at a rate of one every two months. The entire series is slated for an October 23 release. Episode six came out a week ago. Check the band’s YouTube channel for teasers for the upcoming songs.
