Live music preview: Vancerts Drag Show Saturday [postponed] at Native with Caleb De Casper

Update: this event has been postponed to July 17 at Native due to inclement weather forecast

Vancerts’ Sunset Saturdays series at Native Hostel will feature a drag show plus musical acts Caleb De Casper and Ladyfang this Saturday, July 3 from 6-10 p.m. The concert series by mobile production company, Vancerts is sponsored by Fistful of Bourbon alternating Saturdays through July 31. This weekend’s version will include diva Austin drag performers, Maxine LaQueene, Nadine Hughes, Stormie Daze, Italy Nicole Jenkins and Ima Hoot. Advanced tickets are available via the Vancerts ticketing page. All advance ticket holders get a free Big Swig water upon entry. VIP option (limited availability) includes Fistful of Bourbon Whiskey, Big Swig flavored water, swag and small bites adjacent to the venue.

Besides incredible drag performers and killer glam rock shows from Caleb De Casper and Ladyfang, Sunset Saturdays will include live visual art from Cryptic Creative and a vintage vendor market by Future Moon Vintage.

De Casper’s live performance is a tour de force (see what we did there?) we’ve seen wow audiences repeatedly. The classically trained pianist and vocalist employs both a horror rock solo act as well as his glam rock full band. Both versions of De Casper’s live act includes a high-energy show with high-quality rock n roll.  Fans may come for the drag show but they’ll leave fans of Caleb de Casper. We can guarantee it.

Openers Ladyfang are best described by KUTX’s Jack Anderson, “The four-piece claims “chaos pop-rock” as their genre, whipping up a heavy maelstrom of funk, folk, indie, alternative and above all – high octane rock. Ladyfang’s got no trouble biting through any predictable genre formula, and with Cara Juan’s uncouth lyrics and unabashed delivery on top, it’s a truly energizing, off-the-wall set of sounds.”

Saturday’s show promises to be a special one. As always, Native Hostel’s bar and kitchen are open for patrons. An after party will take place in the VIP / media / artist area immediately following the show. If you missed the ticket link above you can RSVP on Facebook and grab tickets there.
