On the 50th Anniversary of Utah Arts Festival, Salt Lake City’s premier annual arts event chose to host Austin folk-Americana artist, Shakey Graves on Saturday, June 21 on the street adjacent to Library Square in the downtown civic center area. As huge fans of Graves’ since his return to Austin from Los Angeles where he was pursuing an acting career we’ve seen his steady ascent in music.

Austin’s Cowboy Diplomacy dropped their second track, “Bad Man” October 25. The song is from the group’s upcoming debut album, Burn Down The Road which was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith.
“Bad Man” explores the self-indulgence of one’s dark side, focusing too much on imperfections while searching for salvation is a recipe for hurt and turmoil. According to lead vocalist, Ian Cochran, “Bad Man” is a sort of self-manifested alter-ego of sorts.

Thursday music fans celebrated Halloween with Austin’s Ghostland Observatory at Carson Creek Ranch. The celebrated electronic dance duo performed with Fort Never and DJ Chicken George in front of approximately 1000 people. A good portion of those attendees wore outlandish costumes for the occasion. Last Thursday at BMI’s Howdy Texas extravaganza leading into weekend two of Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL Fest), venue host, Yeti Flagship store had a lyrical sharpshooter ready to give a playful greeting to Texas locals and visitors in Austin’s music capitol. As the windy October night cooled down, the music-loving crowd warmed to Caroline Rose gradually like the ice melting in the chilled mixed drinks silently swirling together.
