Music video premiere: San Antonio post art-rocker Ila Minori releases beautiful Mend clip
Today we’re premiering another video from San Antonio songstress, Ila Minori. The haunting clip from the song “Mend” details the fallout of a breakup, featuring Erica Monzon aka Ila Minori as she contemplates her breakup. The video is beautifully shot on location in Austin and San Antonio by John-Marc Lucid (Lucid House Productions). Lucid expertly depicted the emotional lows of dealing with a sudden breakup. The clip is moving to watch and highlights Ila Minori’s incredible vocal style.
Monzon’s voice in the song is gorgeous. Fans will hear shades of Mazzy Star in her sound, which is intentional as the the 90’s duo is a big influence on the group. In her hometown, the singer is well-known, garnering a San Antonio Current award for best singer / songwriter in 2015. Mend appears on Ila Minori’s recent release, Traveling with Ghosts. Ila Minori will be showing the new video in Austin at the Halcyon Mueller Block Party this Friday, September 28. Monzon will be performing a few acoustic songs at 11 p.m. Austin and San Antonio fans can catch Ila Minori’s full band set near the conclusion of the band’s fall tour which begins October 4 in the North Eastern part of the country returning to Texas for dates in San Antonio (10/20) and Austin (10/27).
