The self-proclaimed “Lords of Shit City” have graced various Austin stages for nearly a decade.  With several regional US tours under their belt, the Austin four-piece, Leche has found themselves smack-dab in the middle of the modern Austin punk scene.

New music: The sensational Reina del Cid and The Other Favorites on tour

I am still not sure what a “YouTuber” is, though my teenager has explained the concept twice. I am halfway lost between rotary phones and storage clouds; long playing records and streaming services. So I do not know if Reina del Cid was a “YouTuber” originally or if it just happens to be where I found her singing “The Tennessee Waltz”.

Album Review: New Steve Earle Record Honors Guy Clark’s Legacy

I’ve always felt Guy Clark had it all as far as talent. We are talking about a man whose songwriting eclipsed the brightest songwriters over three generations commercial country music offered. His voice was husky and strong, with a whisper of soft romanticism one can’t just dub in to a mix as an production afterthought.

Song Premiere: Walker Lukens’ Election Confession brought Bright Light Social Hour and Joi Chevalier together and it was magic

The interview and session took place at Native Hostel.

The path to the sound the virtuosic guitarist is constantly seeking was temporarily muddled. What was never in doubt is Petralli’s ability to make exceptional music. White Denim’s sound was largely built around former drummer Josh Block’s unorthodox technique who left to tour with Bridges full-time as did guitarist Austen Jenkins.

Track Premiere – Augustus – “Stubborn Monument”

Boulder, Colorado’s Augustus are taking a modern twist to rock n roll’s sound by blending together soothing melodies, gravitating vocals and guitar twisting melodies to a traditional psych-rock sound. The four-piece started their work in 2013 releasing four EP’s and a full-length album “Second to None” in 2015. On the subject of  past releases, we are excited to announce Augustus’ new track “Stubborn Monument” off of their up coming EP, “Idle”.

Album review: The Bright Light Social Hour released first new music in three years Friday

After covering The Bright Light Social Hour for nearly a decade, since their debut album The Bright Light Social Hour dropped, I can honestly say I couldn’t be more excited for the group. If you clicked the link, you saw tens of thousands of plays their debut has on Soundcloud which isn’t even the most popular streaming platform they’re found on. The band was hot. You couldn’t turn on KUT (KUTX didn’t exist yet) without hearing one of the band’s singles.
