Live music preview: Marcus Rezak returns to Austin with Truth in Sound

Denver-based guitarist, Marcus Rezak returns to Austin this evening in support of his second EP, Truth in Sound at Empire Control Room and Garage with percussionist, Nikki Glaspie of Nth Power on drums, Chantil Dukart on keys and Tim Philpot on bass. EP features Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, and the late Tony Markellis of Trey Anastasio Band and Kalyan Pathak on percussion and tabla. Rezak appears at Rancho Relaxo Saturday evening with his high-octane Grateful Dead cover band, Shred is Dead to celebrate Jerry Garcia’s birthday with the Rancho crew to complete the one-two, Austin punch. Christian Bland (The Black Angels) returns to Native Hostel Saturday, July 31 this time with a full band, the Revelators to headline the final Vancerts Sunset Saturdays until the series resumes September 4.
