Live music review: Levitation Halloween Kickoff at Hotel Vegas with Osees and Kairos Creature Club

Halloween night 2024, marked the opening evening of Levitation Festival this year.  With artists from around the globe opening on stages at venues throughout Austin, Kairos Creature Club and Osees presented a Halloween kickoff at East Sixth’s Hotel Vegas. It was a show that would surely deliver. Each year, Osees make their way to Austin for a four-night residency at East Austin live music hub. And every year, they put on versatile sets that exceed the expectations of music fans. Halloween night last Thursday was no exception.

Video Premiere: Good Field release Halloween themed clip

Austin indie rock / shoegaze four-piece Good Field released a new song and accompanying video, “Coyote” today. The song is part of a larger collection of tracks the Austin band has recorded over the years that will be compiled into a full-length record entitled Coyote. Jim Eno (Spoon) provided engineering and production on the record. Dan Duszynski (Loma, Cross Record) mastered the tracks which include this ode to living free that B Movie filmmaker, Zachary Scott transformed into a werewolf themed story just in time for Halloween.

Live music review (photos): Ghostland Observatory’s Halloween party in Austin

Thursday music fans celebrated Halloween with Austin’s Ghostland Observatory at Carson Creek Ranch. The celebrated electronic dance duo performed with Fort Never and DJ Chicken George in front of approximately 1000 people. A good portion of those attendees wore outlandish costumes for the occasion. We’ve included images taken by The Cosmic Clash photographer, David Castaneda of the spectacle, fans and fun things to do at the ranch which sits across the highway from Austin Bergstrom Airport.

Live music preview: Ghostland Observatory to kick off huge Halloween weekend at Carson Creek Ranch

One of Austin’s most successful independent bands, Ghostland Observatory has announced a Halloween performance at Carson Creek Ranch next week on October 31. The electronic music duo haven’t played their hometown often in the last year, notching their most recent shows during South by Southwest last March.
