Live music preview: Levitation lineup featuring Aussies Civic and UK post punks Warmduscher at Hotel Vegas Friday

It’s Levitation time again in Austin.  The four-night fest rocks the socks off of the Capitol City each fall with a collection of stellar showcases at various venues primarily in the downtown Red River District. On Friday, October, 27,  beloved East Austin venue, Hotel Vegas, will host three bands and folks will have a chance to check out a sure-to-be stellar showcase. Civic and Warmduscher top a great bill.

New Buck Biloxi will kick things off with what is sure to be a fired-up, garage-punk experience. With an extensive place in punk lore, and just months after the latest release from The New Buck Biloxi — a four-track EP — the New Orleans punk rock legend is will bring what is certain to be a  memorable, fitting kick-off to a high-energy evening of heavy-hitting live tunes.

Civic made some serious noise during SXSW earlier this year.  The talk about the group during SX brewed up some serious buzz amongst show goers wanting to see the hard-hitting Australian five-piece bang out one of their raw, visceral sets. Check out the rocking clip above filmed by our friends at the D0512 Lounge earlier this year.

Headlining the evening is London-based post-punk band, Warmduscher.  The six-piece started in 2014 as an on-the-fly improvised band as a means of entertaining a New Years Eve party.

Civic and Warmduscher played the same venue earlier this year during SXSW. Their return to Hotel Vegas will be warmly welcomed.  All three of these bands play their own styles of punk with their varied deliveries. The energy at Hotel Vegas should definitely provide an unforgettable evening of high-energy, live music.

For those not quite willing to call it a night after Warmduscher, stick around for the afterparty, featuring Gus Baldwin and the Sketch.  After spending July touring much of the East Coast and a few southern spots, the Austin punk quintet should serve as the perfect exclamation point on the Levitation showcase at Hotel Vegas this Friday.

The show is scheduled to begin at 8:20 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.. Limited tickets are still available at the LEVITATION ticketing page
