Update: OFF! cancel LEVITATION date, Trail of Dead and Fuck Money moved to 13th Floor

Legendary punk super-group OFF! was forced to cancel their LEVITATION date at Hotel Vegas. And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and hardcore Austin punks Fuck Money have been moved to the 13th Floor bar on Red River this Saturday. All ticket holders for the original lineup have been refunded.

The Instagram post from OFF! postponing their tour dates including LEVITATION is below. We’re wishing drummer Justin Brown a speedy recovery.

OFF cancel note IG

The annual psych rock themed festival got its start as Austin Psych Fest eventually rebranding as LEVITATION to reflect the mid-tier sized festival’s larger scope. Satellite events now take place in Angers, France and Vancouver, B.C.

OFF! front man, Keith Morris came through the Live Music Capital recently with his primary creative outlet, Circle Jerks for a sold-out two night  stand at Mohawk that hardcore fans are still talking about weeks later. Rounding out the band are former Austin resident Autry Fullbright (bass) who was once a member of Trail of Dead. Joining those two in OFF! are founding member, Demitri Coates (Burning Brides) and Justin Brown on drums. The foursome bring short, hard-hitting, classic punk rock to LEVITATION along with a healthy dose of aggression which is sure to stir up a mosh pit on the Hotel Vegas patio.

Trail of Dead

The slam dancing and stage dives will merely be a continuation of mayhem as ATX’s …Trail of Dead bring a new record, lineup and energy after being hard rock mainstays on the scene since the early aughts. With new(ish) members like, Ben Redman (drums) who played for U-18 act, Residual Kid and underground punk act, Army, Trail of Dead are well-suited to continue making music well into the future despite founding members Conrad Keely and Jason Reese beginning to age, newest lineup additions, Redman and John Dowey (Think, No Think) promise to keep this seminal Austin act young and vital.

Tas Muerte of Fuck Money

Openers Fuck Money are the latest project from Taz Muerte (BLXPLTN). That duo occasionally had Keely sitting in on bass if you were wondering what the connection was among these acts. Actually many of these artists are friends in the Austin music scene and friends with The Cosmic Clash.  TCC got to preview Fuck Money’s live performance recently when the group played a last-minute, surprise mini-set at a Fender Guitar event. The intensity that Muerte brings to the stage might dwarf that of his stage mates next weekend. The only way to find out is to get tickets to the show before the Vegas patio sells out again. And it’s likely to, we’ve seen it happen plenty of times.

PRO TIP: Watch The Cosmic Clash on Instagram to enter a contest to win a pair of tickets to the show, plus a TCC logo shirt and swag. Only one winner will be chosen at random. If you enter, be sure to check your Instagram private messages the day before the show (Oct 28) when a winner will be chosen. Or just grab tickets here and guarantee entry into the best hardcore lineup of an incredible Austin music festival we’re proud to be a part of.
