Live music preview: Vancerts Sunset Sessions at Native with Christian Bland

Austin music startup Vancerts, a mobile concert concept has announced Sunset Sessions at Native Hostel with Christian Bland of The Black Angels. Bland will be performing a rare, solo set along with performances by The Cuckoos and Dayeater. The launch show is slated for Saturday, April 24 at 5 p.m. in the Native “backyard.”

Advance ticket buyers will receive a free can of Big Swig sparkling water with each ticket. Vancerts will have some free swag from participating sponsors at the event. Check the event listing on Facebook for updates.

The lineup slated for the Sunset Sessions Vancerts show is more than impressive with The Cosmic Clash booking alums Dayeater on the bill. Opener, Austin psych rockers, The Cuckoos are favorites around the office since we found the psych-glam act at The Electric Church a while back. Front man, Kenneth Frost is a consummate performer in the mode of legend, David Bowie who he clearly takes inspiration from. Frost will also be performing solo.

Christian Bland, lead guitarist of neo-psych rock outfit, The Black Angels should need no further introduction for Austin music fans, but for those not in the know, the dynamic guitarist has a side project, Christian Bland and the Revelators who are equally talented as TBA. Seeing the axe-man swinging solo is a special treat in our view.

Grab tickets in advance to save $5. Day of the show, cost will be $20 instead of pre-sale price of $15 to be at this inaugural event at the downtown adjacent Native which is easily accessible by bike, bus or train.
