Song premiere: The Blowies new single There May Never Be Another X-Mas
Austin pop-punks The Blowies have released a timely new single, “There May Never Be Another X-Mas (All I Want for X-Mas is Impeachment) as the U.S. House of Representatives have voted to send two articles of impeachment of President Trump to the Senate for trial. The fact that it’s done in classic garage punk style fits the raw, unrefined approach of President Trump well. It’s the right genre for a radical political crisis.
The whimsical song, done in the fashion of 70s punk heroes The Sex Pistols and The Ramones, was recorded at Jim Eno’s (Spoon) Public Hi-Fi Studios. The track was mixed, engineered and mastered by Max Lorenzen. The classic garage punk sound is put to lyrics presented as a letter to Santa. The Blowies Tucker Jameson and Samuel Thompson achieved what they set out to do with song “pointing out the absurd with absurdity” as they claim in their bio.
The Democrats would do well to adopt the song as it pleads with Santa to forget the gifts and just get rid of the current President. This the the second single The Blowies have released. The first, “Selfie Fucks / Selfie Love” dropped December 11 with a release show at Hotel Vegas. The Blowies play Mohawk Jan 2 for Free Week.
