Live music preview: Moondance pre-New Year’s Eve party featuring Trouble in the Streets to benefit Other Ones Foundation

There’s an event featuring a trio of local talent from the folks who run Moondance. The pre-New Years Eve Party on Saturday, December 30, at Elysium will feature an electrifying lineup including Trouble In The Streets, The Past Lives, Pariseli, and a late night electro set by Viben. The event will support our unhoused neighbors through The Other Ones Foundation who will receive a portion of the proceeds.

Be sure to check out local vendors from the Far Out Vintage Market and Toadzilla Thrift. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance via the online ticketing page.

Past Lives member Quentin Arispe, “We feel so honored as a band to be apart of an event that is for such a great cause.  Everyone deserves a safe space to sleep at night…. and hats off to The Other Ones Foundation for providing healthy living spaces and safe shelters for the unhoused in our community.  We are proud to be apart of something bigger than ourselves and we are grateful for everyone at Moondance for giving artists like us a chance to be on a platform that promotes positivity, togetherness in community and love.  A little bit of everything the world needs right now.  We are excited for this show and can’t wait to see everyone on Dec. 30th at Elysium!”

Doug Freeman at The Austin Chronicle described Past Lives in an ACL Fest review;

“Sweat, sex, and rock & roll: a formula that, when done right, never fails. The Past Lives do it to perfection. The local sextet, led by the charisma-oozing bombast of Neptune, hyped the Tito’s tent into a frenzy with an intoxicating mix of dirty Eighties-styled hard rock, skeezy R&B ballads, and funk-bleeding breakdowns. Flanked throughout the performance by two backup dancers, Neptunes choreography struck a provocative contrast to the heavier moments that jammed the set’s opening run, yet synched perfectly as the band later leaned into an irreverently-suave sass of strutting grooves and slinky moves.”

Trouble in the Streets sound equally enthusiastic about playing the benefit, “We are so excited to be closing out the year at such an amazing event. We love TOOF and everything they do for the community!” The Austin band released their most recent album, Satisfy Saturn in April of this year. The electronic, Afro-beat band are known for bringing the energy to the stage.
