Song premiere: Let It Rain by Austin’s Christine Renner

The second single from attractive, young Austin indie-pop singer Christine Renner “Let It Rain” is from the talented artist’s upcoming EP Tonight. The rocker is also our Music Video of the Week as well as our song premiere today. The song was inspired by a dream, or rather a nightmare and a love of classic rock. Renner’s lovely voice is punctuated by a heavy, distinctive guitar riff along with an insistent drum part. The track was produced by Chris John “Frenchie” Smith. Renner is also performing this evening at The Mohawk. More on that below.

Renner on how the song came about, “This is my second single off my upcoming EP called “Tonight”. I wrote this song after having a bad dream that I got my heartbroken, and I couldn’t shake the dark feeling the dream gave me, so that lead to this song “Let It Rain”. I’m incredibly inspired by bands from the 70’s like Led Zeppelin, Heart, and Bad Company, so this song showcases my love for the classics. I had a blast recording this dreamy music video that will represent the emotions and dreamlike sense that I wrote this song with.”

Renner performs tonight at The Mohawk inside following The Black Pumas sold-out show on the outdoor stage. For fans already attending, they’re in for a nice surprise after Austin’s hot new act performs on the outdoor stage. Frankly we’re looking forward to catching her performance after taking in the new video and getting to meet the personable singer. Some tickets for the show are still available. Kites and Fertility House are supporting acts.

Lyrics:
You left me crying
Lying on the floor
You had me asking
Do you love me anymore
The thunders roaring
Here comes the storm
I wasn’t anticipating
For you to walk out that door

Ooo baby tell me tell me is it true
Are you really leaving me

All this pain I feel inside
It hurts me more than a dagger knife
I’ve never felt this way before
Why don’t you love me anymore
Let it rain let it rain on me

I couldn’t breathe
When you left me
Your voice haunts me
I can’t even sleep
It’s never ending
Can’t get you off my mind
So I’m surrendering
I think I lost this time

Ooo baby tell me tell me is it true
Are you really leaving me

All this pain I feel inside
It hurts me more than a dagger knife
I’ve never felt this way before
Why don’t you love me anymore
Let it rain let it rain on me
