Video Premiere: El Paso’s Sleepspent present “California”
This week The Cosmic Clash is particularly pleased to present an exclusive music video premiere of “California” by our friends, Sleepspent. The El Paso-based indie-rock trio is comprised of members; Austin North (Vocals, Guitar), Grant Gonzales (Bass) and Josh Mendoza (Drums). The group is closing out their Southern tour in Austin on February 9 at Love Goat with DAYEATER, 3Radio Tiger and Geranium Drive. You can RSVP on Facebook here.
The music video’s subject matter describes the dark side of mental health issues. North describes the song as:
“feelings of isolation and loneliness. “California” came from a place of desperation, from an overwhelming feeling of being trapped, and from a desire for a cathartic release in the form of vulnerability and openness.”
The single was produced by Chris Common (Chelsea Wolfe, Le Butcherettes, Minus The Bear) and released in November of 2018. The song can be found on your favorite streaming service. Doubling as both a video release and kickoff, the first show of the tour is taking place at the Neon Rose in El Paso, TX on February 1. More information regarding the performance can be found here.
