Kay Odyssey set to hit the road on their second West Coast tour
One of Austin’s top musical talents, Kay Odyssey is embarking on their second West Coast tour. The Party Cups Tour kicks off this Friday (September 27) at Beerland for the Peyote Coyote Residency #4. The Party Cups tour continues with a stop in the mysterious West Texas town of Marfa at the Lost Horse Saloon. The tour then heads off to the furthest reaches of the beautiful west Texas desert to El Paso, then across the enchanted state of New Mexico stoping in Parse Seco and the Albuquerque. Kay Odyssey will rock out in Phoenix (Scotsdale) as the tour reaches the idyllic West Coast making tour stops in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Kristina Boswell (lead vocals, guitar), Vajaja Vallejo (drums), Liz Burrito (guitar) , and Kelsey Wickliffe (bass) form a powerhouse psych-rock outfit that stretches the furthest regions of your imagination. The mind melting sounds keep you in a trance with magnificent guitar riffs and catchy harmonic hooks. Last year’s debut album “What’s a Woman To Do” was one of our favorite Austin records of 2017.
If you are not familiar with Kay Odyssey we recommend that you grab yourself a copy of the album. The recording was listed as one of the top 10 albums in The Austin Chronicle and 365ThingsAustin last year. The album art was created by the extremely talented Jaime Zuverza who has a wide portfolio of art found on posters and album covers. Zuverza won an Austin Music Award for his work on The Octopus Project’s album art last year. If you’re not ready to pull the trigger on purchasing the record quite yet, you can familiarize yourself by streaming the album on Bandcamp or feast your eyes on the powerful female empowerment music video “Mountains in My Step”, it is simply amazing!
