Live music preview: Birds Barbershop and Feels So Good presents Good Hair Day show benefiting HAAM Sunday
Local chain, Birds Barbershop and screen printers, Feels So Good presents their Good Hair Day benefit for Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) this Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Feels So Good’s headquarters in South Austin. Headliners Frankie and the Witch Fingers top the bill at the show that only requires a donation to HAAM to join the fun, Supporting Frankie are local acts, Cast of Thousands, GF Shannon, Ladyfingers and Nick Garza’s Get Along. DJ Boi Orbison will also be spinning tunes.
Besides the option to explore local music, psych rock music fans are in for a special performance from Frankie who wowed the Parish crowd last month with a show that was presented by LEVITATION and The Cosmic Clash and produced by Resound Presents. According to the Birds website, “… guests will enjoy beverages from St. Elmo Brewing Co. and Rambler Sparkling Water, and bites from Wuelo Chuy’s Tacos, Zee’s Wiener System, and Sugar Penguin Cookies.” Local promoter and plant enthusiasts, Play to the Plants will decorate the stage with exotic plants from partners, Tillery Street Plant Company. The plants will be available for purchase at the show. PTTP founder, Zak Peters will introduce headliners Frankie and the Witch Fingers plus he’ll be around to facilitate plant purchases for fans.
Bird’s and FSG also promise vendors: “Visit the Typewriter Rodeo for a custom poem, the Quick Draw Photo Booth for a one-of-a-kind drawing, and Birds Barbershop for a beard, bang, or neck trim. Other vendors include No Good Tattoo, Sister Palm Readings, Fiber & Brimstone, Fairy Plant Babes, and many more.”
The event which is outdoors is rain or shine in the Feels So Good Parking Lot at 211 E. Alpine Road, Austin, TX 78704. Admission is free, with a suggested donation to benefit HAAM.
