Video Premiere: Good Field release Halloween themed clip
Austin indie rock, shoegaze four-piece Good Field released a new song and accompanying video, “Coyote” today. The song is part of a larger collection of tracks the Austin band has recorded over the years that will be compiled into a full-length record entitled Coyote. Jim Eno (Spoon) provided engineering and production on the record. Dan Duszynski (Loma, Cross Record) mastered the tracks which include this ode to living free that B Movie filmmaker, Zachary Scott transformed into a werewolf themed story just in time for Halloween.
The video begins with a humorous disclaimer, “Due to our strong personal convictions, we wish to stress that this film in no way endorses the belief in coyotes being able to transform into humans and eat the flesh of the living.”
The group wrote the material while on ranch land in Lampasas, Texas. According to band leader Paul Price, the spacious hill country setting helped paint a vivid picture for the lyrics which reflect prey admiring a coyote and its hunt for prey which is essentially what happens to the couple depicted in Good Field’s great new video.
The clever video reveals a mellow, well written track with pensive lyrics that are complimented by a solid bass line and vocal hook. The werewolf howls at the end of the clip are a clever touch that neatly ties the song and video together. With an introductory song this good, we’re looking forward to hearing the rest of the tracks from this record. Find all three previous releases by Good Field on their website.
