Austin heir-apparent to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Blues guitarist Gary Clark Jr. played three sold-out nights at ACL Live last week concluding on Wednesday, December 5. Clark is expected to drop his next full-length record early next year. The performance opened with Eve and the Exiles (also Austin natives like Mr. Clark).

After postponing the performances from January due to a hand injury, Clark took the stage at the Moody Theater following an enjoyable opening slot by former Austin High classmate turned musical peer, Eve Monsees. The veteran performer looked just as comfortable on the big ACL Live stage as anyone.

Clark’s tour picks up again in March with dates in Miami, Chicago and a notable three-night stand at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Check the images our photographer, Mike Manewitz filed following the one of the most talked-about shows of year. Multiple sell out performances by a local artist at Austin’s top indoor venue is an indicator Clark’s already sizeable audience is getting larger.
