I’m still processing last weekend’s rollicking two night Phish run in Austin at the Moody Center. The last time the nerdy foursome from Vermont played Austin was on a sweltering July day in 2018 outside and I was in the midst of an on-again/off-again thing that was off who also happened to be at the show.

Live music preview: Marcus Rezak returns to Austin with Truth in Sound

Denver-based guitarist, Marcus Rezak returns to Austin this evening in support of his second EP, Truth in Sound at Empire Control Room and Garage with percussionist, Nikki Glaspie of Nth Power on drums, Chantil Dukart on keys and Tim Philpot on bass. EP features Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, and the late Tony Markellis of Trey Anastasio Band and Kalyan Pathak on percussion and tabla. Rezak appears at Rancho Relaxo Saturday evening with his high-octane Grateful Dead cover band, Shred is Dead to celebrate Jerry Garcia’s birthday with the Rancho crew to complete the one-two, Austin punch.
