Song Premiere: The Dead Coats drop new single Reach today

The Dead Coats have just dropped their latest single, “Reach,” and true to their signature style, this track is a soul-shredding punk-rock ecstasy. Hailing from Austin, the band, fronted by the exceptionally talented Lauren V. Warner (vocals), delivers an electrifying performance that demands your attention. Warner’s grandiose voice is nothing short of remarkable, leaving an indelible mark on your soul.

The latest single, “Reach,” is a surprise attack orchestrated by the talented ensemble of Josh Jones on guitar, Einar Pederson on drums, and Alex Scheider on bass. Pederson initiates the assault with the first explosive shot, while Scheider strategically mows down any resistance. However, “Reach” isn’t finished with its surprise invasion, as Lauren V. Warner enters the fray, claiming victory with her glorious vocal prowess.

Warner’s lyrics are a potent encapsulation of intense emotions, ready to explode: “One step in, I’m far behind
Going in, and out of my mind, Suffering, all the time, Is it okay, to fall behind?” Her anger and frustration pierce through the dense fog of war, delivered with her signature growling scream—an accomplishment few vocalists can rival. The song invokes a sense of yearning for escape, just slightly out of reach: “You know me and I know you, Know what we’re going through, Drink for me, and I’ll drink for you, Hell, let’s drink for two!!”

While the track slays with punk-rock energy, the bridge artfully slows the tempo, almost like whispering a message of triumph to the adversary: “Scheming, fighting and wanting, Everyone’s looking for something, Reaching, I’m always reaching, I’m always reaching” Victory is boldly claimed as the song’s hook delivers the final blow: “Every time you tease me, always in my head, I know, I know you can’t reach me, Every time you tease me, always in my head” Reach is definitely a punk rock anthem!

The Dead Coats are gearing up to release their latest single, ‘Reach,’ on Friday, September 1st, at Howdy Gals and Mas Music Record’s monthly zodiac party at Far Out Lounge.
