New music review: Cowboy Diplomacy drops Bad Man

Austin’s Cowboy Diplomacy dropped their second track, “Bad Man” October 25. The song is from the group’s upcoming debut album, Burn Down The Road which was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith.

“Bad Man” explores the self-indulgence of one’s dark side, focusing too much on imperfections while searching for salvation is a recipe for hurt and turmoil. According to lead vocalist, Ian Cochran, “Bad Man” is a sort of self-manifested alter-ego of sorts.

“That side of you that gets into trouble and doesn’t always make the wisest choices. Hurting the ones that matter. Feeling independent and like you don’t need anyone’s help.”

The track is reminiscent of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ dark rock n roll tone with driving bass, bluesy guitar while the haunting lyrics paint vivid picture for the listener.

“I’m a sad man, but no one knows / I’m a bad man huntin’, you know I’m just stuntin’ / a sad man gunning for some real good vibes.”

“You hope I turn into a saint, I hope you find a better man.”

Listen to the track and share it with your friends online.
