Burgermania – Paul Collins, Bill Murray, Bare Wires, King Tuff at The Spider House (3 of 3)
Paul Collins and Peter Case former members of their most notably famous 70’s band The Nerves. The headliners were the most anticipated band of the night. Collins who wrote ‘Hanging on the Telephone’ made widely famous by the punk band Blondie. Collins and Case were also involved in other projects like The Beat, rilling up the crowd to sing along. The icing on the cake was the introduction which included non other than the legendary actor, Bill Murray!

Californian band Bare Wires who’s drummer was the one and only Omar from Apache! Unfortunately Omar was not able to perform that night but it turned out that Tony, Bass player from Part Time, saved the nigh. Bare Wires performed in the smallest stage in the Ballroom that was most likely filled to capacity, seemed to give Matthew Melton a more intimate interaction with the audience or they could just have been good friends. Without missing a beat, The Bare Wires gave a great performance including a good ol’ smashing of the instruments before running for the exit.

To top off the night King Tuff pushed the crowed to it’s limits. The chaos included a beer throwing, body smashing performance that put the Mania in Burgermania. King Tuff kept the momentum going for an excellent night of Rock n’ Roll. To find more about King Tuff check out Tee Pee Records, Sub Pop, or their Burger Records for a sample or two. It would be worth investing on their album too, you wont regret it!
