Live music review: My Morning Jacket got inducted into ACL TV Hall of Fame and I missed it

I sent The Cosmic Clash crew a text about the upcoming Austin City Limits taping of My Morning Jacket, when I realized the band was being inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame on Friday, August 1, by Cameron Crowe. The rain moved on and Van Mary eased us into a swampy day at the Janice Stage with a super-chill set. The afternoon continued to heat up as Mikaela Davis & Southern Star took to the Willie Stage for the final day of APF.

SXSW live review: The Black Angels performed at Marshall Fun House party and it ruled

Fast forward to SXSW 2024 and asking Greg why in all these years he’s never asked me to write for TCC and him finding out that I’ve seen The Black Angels (give or take) 40 times since that fateful night back in 2006. And here we are – you’re here to get a recap of Friday’s SXSW show at The Parish for the Marshall Fun House and I’m giving my brief history with the band as it pertains to writing about them.
