On September 2, Austin musician Scott Collins discussed the meaning behind some of his music during an interview under a large Oak tree at his home which also houses a recording studio with Mike Cosmic. Collins is influenced by many artists and most importantly life experiences. Life’s dark places have manifested themselves in his creative lyrics and melodies. His artistic approach has pushed him into an unconventional way of creating music that seems to have no barriers in sight.
Talking to Collins revealed that being a movie enthusiast has helped him incorporate a film’s tone and feelings into his music. He explains that he writes songs to create a mental picture that can be easily translated to film.
