Video Premiere: The March Divide present lyric video Your Light
The El Paso music scene has always been a diamond in the rough, disparate acts like the Bobby Fuller Four, Khalid, Vikki Carr, and Sparta have all contributed to the city’s colorful musical culture. Rockers Stevie Nicks, Nikki Sixx, H. R. (Bad Brains) and Al Jourgensen (Ministry) also did time in El Paso. EPT native Jared Putman, better known as The March Divide is a long-time area musician whose career began in the desert town. In a decade-long run, Putnam has put out four albums and multiple singles. The March Divide’s relentless touring is a testament to his commitment to music with no signs of slowing down. The fifth record from The March Divide is expected in early March of next year on Slow Start Records.
The epitome of a hard-working, independent artist, Putnam spends most of his time on the road playing venues across the nation, often mentioned in the media as “big star-informed, strummy acoustic reverie” (BLURT) and “completely clever” (Performer), yet more significantly he has cultivated a devoted fan base as The March Divide. During the pandemic the artist has been working out of Forth Worth, Texas where he currently resides. Like most musicians, he hasn’t toured in months, allowing him the opportunity to develop new music as many musicians have been doing this year.
In advance of The March Divide’s fifth studio effort, The Cosmic Clash is proud to premiere the lyric video, “Your Light.” The single leads with Putnam’s signature guitar picking followed by a strong flowing beat while swelling up to a full ensemble of sound. The track’s melancholic vibe digs a deep emotional bond on the first listen. The song is just a small sample of this talented indie musician’s work.
