Burger Records & Burger City present Burgermania at The Spider House, SXSW 2012 , Part (1 of 3) – The Cosmic Clash

Burgermania’s SXSW lineup brought some of the most rocking bands to date. Burgermania went off with out a hitch featuring over 60 bands, 6 stages and actual Burgers! With so much going on it was difficult to decide what bands to watch. Although I was able to catch about 12 bands through out the festival.

Sam Flax is an evolution of the 80’s new wave sound using a double synth arrangement creating a hypnotizing sound. Their unique musical style along with a great performance creates a great first impression. Pick up a couple of their recordings, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

More on Sam Flax Here.

Part Time based out of San Francisco were featured in multiple SXSW shows this year! The bands pop-synth musical arrangements grove to every beat as if they were bubbles in the air.

PT Bass player, Tony filled in on drums for Bare Wires later that afternoon.

The Mean Jeans totally delivered with their Ramones style sound mixed with an energetic performance had the Ballroom bar going crazy!

The Vomettes are a  punk band with a twist in lyric perversion. With songs titled Wrong Hole and  Saw Yr Tits you know its going to be fun. The Vomettes are totally cool in my book  sometimes you need to get your fill on explicit lyrics.

Habibi – Burgermania was a day for music discovery.  Habibi is a quartet with a strum-surf-pop-punk style with a twist of 90’s alternative. Hailing from newyorkdetroitpuertoricola, Habibi  has a way of getting those melodies lodged in your head. These ladies can really rock I am eager to see where this band goes and I would definitely like to check Habibi out again.
